ISOBUS is a standard that was originally managed by the ISOBUS group within the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen und Anlagenbau – German Engineering Association), a network of around 3,000 engineering companies in Europe. The ISOBUS standard specifies a serial data network for control and communication in forestry or agricultural tractors. It contains several parts that describe various aspects of data communication, from general standards for mobile data communication to specifications for data exchange between tractor and implement. The standard is now part of ISO 11783 and work on its other parts is still ongoing.
