In today's digital era, geospatial data is increasingly generated and stored in the cloud, leading to an explosion of both structured and unstructured data. This data can be either a benefit or a challenge, depending on how it is used. To maximize their potential, the adoption of certain standards, such as ISO/TC 211, an international standard aimed at improving the availability, integration and sharing of geographic information, is key. These standards support the interoperability of computer systems and enable effective solutions to global challenges such as sustainable development. For successful development, understanding between organizations at different levels of decision-making and the creation of market demand, which is supported by the private sector, is essential. In addition, it is important to expand capacity and integrate international standards with regional and national standards, especially in developing countries.
