Human Development
HDI (Human Development Index) is a global and respected parameter of the level of the development of regions. The HDI includes parameters such as life expectancy, education, or per capita income. Similarly to GDP used to assessing the economy development, we included values of HDI: HDI 2018 as the latest available figure and progress of HDI over the last ten years. The map below shows the result of ranking the countries according to the value of HDI. In contrary, the figure shows the result of clustering the African countries based on the HDI data.
The map composition shows different aspects of human development that affects the attractiveness of regions.
GDP per capita at PPP = GDP per capita at the parity purchase power in international dollars.
Inflation = increase in the prices of goods and services in an economy in %.
HDI = Human Development Index
Internet Users = % of population that is using the Internet.
Literacy = % of population that is able to read, write, speak and listen in a way that lets us communicate effectively and make sense of the world.
Life Expectancy = measure of the average time a human is expected to live.
Total Fertility Rate = the total number of children that would be born to each woman if she were to live to the end of her child-bearing years and give birth to children in alignment with the prevailing age-specific fertility rates.
Suicide Rate = number of suicides per 100.000 population.
Net Migration Rate = (Immigrants - Emmigrants)/Population * 1000
Unemployment = % of unemployed labour force (i.e. population over age 15)
